Wilson Mété
Artiste plasticien né en 1989 en Côte d’Ivoire, Wilson Mété est diplômé des beaux-arts de Marseille. Il vit et travaille à Marseille.
« Ma pratique artistique s’articule autour de l’espace urbain, du flux des déplacements et de la dynamique de la vie contemporaine. Je m’approprie des problématiques portant sur la représentation du monde en tant qu’espace, un espace-temps dans lequel les corps circulent.»
Un face-à-face avec les originesLa mémoire ajuste les fragments, la colle prend ; l’artiste rassemble les bouts de son histoire pour réciter le présent et penser l’avenir. La trame mémorielle se déploie devant nous, offrant un monde fait d’images, d’émotions, de permanence. La densité des formes laisse surgir des structures d’émotions dans l’épaisseur des textures. Dans cette confusion organisée, différents matériaux cohabitent harmonieusement (papiers, tissu, cuir…), enrichissant les toiles de leurs textures et de leurs empreintes émotionnelles. Comme un miroir mémoriel, chaque œuvre invite à une expérience immersive et nous rappelle l’importance de la pleine conscience. Il faut réévaluer pour reconsidérer, ces détails du quotidien qui nous échappent, ces instants de vie engloutit dans la banalité du quotidien urbain.
Wilson Mété a participé à plusieurs expositions ; récemment, la Foire d’art moderne à Paris en octobre 2024 et Saint Tropez fine art en Aout 2024.
Il est représenté par la galerie David Pluskwa à Marseille.

« My artistic practice focuses on urban space and the dynamic movement within it, exploring the interplay intertwining of bodily and architectural trajectories in the urban landscape. I delve into themes that address the representation of our surroundings as a complex space-time where bodies navigate and interact.
A face-to-face encounter with the origins
Memory adjusts the fragments, the glue sets; the artist brings together the bits of his story to recite the present and think about the future. The memory frame unfolds before us, offering a world made of images, emotions, permanence. The density of the shapes allows structures of emotion to emerge in the thickness of the textures. In this organized confusion, different materials coexist harmoniously (paper, fabric, leather, etc.) and the paintings are enriched by their arrangements. Like a memory mirror, each work invites an immersive experience and reminds us of the importance of mindfulness. We must re-evaluate in order to reconsider, these everyday details which escape us, these moments of life swallowed up in the banality of urban daily life.
Wilson Mété has participated in several exhibitions, recently, the Modern Art Fair in Paris in October 2024 and Saint Tropez fine art in August 2024.
He is represented by David Pluskwa gallery in Marseille.
